Leaked screenshots of YouTube Playable Games Hint at Mid-2024 Launch

YouTube is testing a new feature called 'Playables' that allows users to play video games directly on the platform without the need to download or install anything. The feature, which was announced in September, is currently available to a limited number of users on both the desktop and mobile apps.

The Android Authority recently shared some details about YouTube Playables, revealing a list of games that have been added to the platform. These games include popular titles such as Angry Birds Showdown, Basketball FRVR, and Carrom Clash, among others. While most of the games are mobile-centric, YouTube claims they can also be played on a desktop.

According to leaked images, YouTube is planning to test the feature until March 28, suggesting a potential mid-2024 launch. Users can access the Playables section by scrolling on their home screen or through a Playables link in the Explore menu. There is also an option to disable the feature for users who are not interested in seeing games on the platform.

Although Google has not provided any information on when Playables will be officially launched, it is expected that the feature will be limited to YouTube Premium subscribers.

Overall, YouTube's Playables feature aims to enhance the gaming experience for users by allowing them to play games directly on the platform without the need for additional downloads or installations. With a range of popular games available, this feature could attract more users and further establish YouTube as a gaming destination.
