Instagram, owned by Meta, has introduced a novel feature permitting users to incorporate music into their grid posts. The unveiling of this feature was orchestrated by renowned American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, who utilized it to introduce her latest composition, 'bad idea right?'. According to The Verge, this development allows users to affix a preferred song to carousel posts, comprising multiple photos or videos, mirroring the functionality found in Stories or Reels.
As per the report, the feature seems to be gradually making its way to users. Alongside this development, Instagram is introducing several additional enhancements. A novel sticker named "add yours" offers fans an opportunity to have their content showcased by the initial creator or artist. By utilizing this sticker to craft a video based on a prompt, creators can opt to spotlight specific submissions. These chosen videos will be displayed prominently at the apex of a landing page, showcasing other Reels generated through the same sticker prompt.
Creators will have the ability to showcase up to ten Reels, and fans will receive notifications if their video is selected by the creator. Instagram is further enhancing its collaborative publishing capability, enabling the collaborative creation of posts by up to three additional accounts.
The Collabs feature enables both public and private accounts to collaboratively share content, ensuring its visibility on the feeds of all involved accounts. In a parallel development, Instagram is preparing to introduce a fresh feature aimed at enhancing user security against unsolicited direct message requests. According to reports from TechCrunch, the company initiated testing of this feature in June.
