DuckDuckGo employs AI technology to provide search results similar to ChatGPT

DuckDuckGo has joined Microsoft and Google in utilizing artificial intelligence to improve its search results. Its AI assistant, called DuckAssist, uses technology from OpenAI and AI startup Anthropic to power its natural language processing capabilities. DuckAssist also leverages Wikipedia to provide results, which may be preferable to some users due to the platform's data editing feature that can distort results. The AI assistant can be accessed via the DuckDuckGo app and browser extensions for all devices, and it is currently available in English for beta testing without requiring users to log in. DuckDuckGo plans to incorporate more sources to enhance the accuracy and response time of its results while ensuring that the content is relevant and does not contain false information.

AI-powered chatbots have become increasingly popular, with Microsoft's investment of $10 billion in OpenAI for its ChatGPT chatbot giving the company a significant advantage. Bing Search and Edge browsers are the first Microsoft products to feature ChatGPT integration, which has boosted Bing's relevance in its market. Thanks to this integration, Microsoft's AI-powered Bing search engine has attracted over 100 million daily active users.
