The gaming-focused messaging platform Discord announced that it had acquired 'Gas', the rising social app which enables teen users to share compliments. Gas has polls that ask users to vote for things like the most beautiful person they've met or the classmate that isn't afraid to get in trouble.
Since its launch in August, its rising popularity among teens and pre-teens has made it enjoyable for more prominent tech players in its domain. The acquisition is part of Discord's more significant effort to target communities and users outside gaming and expand beyond the gaming community.
