Apple has made a highly anticipated hardware launch by unveiling the Apple Vision Pro, an augmented reality headset, marking its first major hardware release in almost a decade. During the announcement at a developer's conference held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted that the new headset seamlessly merges the real and virtual worlds. In addition to the headset, Apple also revealed its latest iPhone operating system and provided updates on the MacBook Air.

The Apple Vision Pro boasts a two-hour battery life and is set to be released in early 2023 in the United States with a price tag of $3,499 (£2,849). The cost of the headset is significantly higher compared to virtual reality headsets currently available in the market, such as Meta's Quest, which is priced at $449.
While Apple provided limited details on generative artificial intelligence, a trending technology in Silicon Valley, the announcement still had an impact on the company's share price, leading to a slight decline.
