Alexa just got a big upgrade - it's smarter, more conversational, and powered by AI. It's got a custom-built big language model that's perfect for voice conversations. Soon, U.S. customers will be able to see some of the cool features that AI can do, making conversations more natural and interactive than ever.
According to Amazon, this is the company's first attempt to make Alexa more accessible to people with mobility or speech disabilities. With eye gaze on Alexa, customers can use their eyes to control their tablet and perform pre-set Alexa actions, like playing music and shows, controlling their smart home devices, and calling or messaging loved ones—all without using their hands or voice.
There is another feature of Call Translation which means that audio and video calls can be translated in real time. Alexa will be allowing call participants to communicate across languages more effectively. This feature is also helpful for deaf and hard-of-hearing customers to communicate remotely more easily.
This feature will be available on Echo Show and the Alexa mobile app to customers in the following countries: United States of America Canada Mexico United Kingdom Germany France Italy Spain Available in more than 10 languages: English, Spanish French German Portuguese The new update includes 'Alexa Emergency Assist' that will enable anyone in your home to get fast access to help, hands-free through a supported Echo device. LLM allows developers to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into their Alexa experiences. LLMs provide natural language understanding, context-based interactions, multimodal and conversational interactions, and more.
Another new AI service 'Splash' is for music lovers who can create original music instantly, simply by using their voice to describe the type of music they want to create. Alexa users can now be featured on your local iHeartRadio station for the first time by leaving a voice comment on your Echo device. These TalkBack Voice comments can be sent to radio DJs at more than 860 iHeartRadio stations in the US. Radio hosts will receive comments in real-time and choose which ones to play on the air.
