Sharks are here, and they’re here with some new colours. The reality show Shark Tank, one of India's famed Hindi- language business reality shows is back with another season. And fans are getting reason to say “ye to bahut achi deal hai(it’s a good deal)”. The show is going to be aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
Shark tank shows entrepreneurs pitching their business propositions to a panel of investors called "Sharks." They evaluate the ideas and goods presented by the competitors before deciding whether to invest their own funds to coach and bring up each one of them.
Season 2 of the show is happening, and this was confirmed in the recently released promo. Although when it is going to air is yet to be revealed, it seems it will debut mostly around late November- December.
During the opening of the promo, a woman is seen conversing with a vegetable vendor in front of a grocery store about how inexpensive vegetables are. By suggesting that his entire cart is only worth about 70 rupees, she makes fun of the vendor and criticizes him.
The woman is surprised when the seller, who is composed and calm, goes on to explain his business concept and claims that his cart is worth more than Rs 70 lakh. The seller's disagreement over the value of his company is something that actually occurs on the show.
Who will serve as judges or sharks in season two of Shark Tank India, you ask? Aman Gupta, co-founder and CMO of boAt, Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Anupam Mittal, Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, and Peyush Bansal, Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com are the five sharks who have returned for the second season.
Two new sharks will appear, including Amit Jain, CEO and Co-founder- CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho.com. But this time fan-favourite Ashneer Grover won’t be a part of it. Rahul Dua, a stand-up comedian, will take over as host in place of Rannvijay Singha, potentially adding to the fun and excitement.
The show is based on the widely recognised idea of the show with the same name—Shark Tank USA. In December of last year, it began airing its inaugural season. Gazal Alagh, a co-founder of MamaEarth, was also a member of the team the previous year. She didn't appear in the teaser, thus it seems unlikely that she will return this season either but it is a guessing game at the moment, as to who the 7th judge would be.
