Team India T20 World Cup Celebration Live Updates: Team India Recieves Cash Prize of Rs 125 crore from BCCI

On Thursday morning, the Indian cricket team arrived in New Delhi after winning the T20 World Cup to a thunderous reception. Team India has a packed agenda today, including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a BCCI felicitation celebration at the Wankhede Stadium, and an open bus trophy tour of Mumbai.

Team India was stranded in Barbados due to a hurricane but was airlifted out of the West Indies on a specially scheduled charter flight. Team India took Air India flight AIC24WC, or Air India Champions 24 World Cup, from Barbados to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The 16-hour nonstop flight left at 4:50 am local time on Wednesday and landed in Delhi at 6 am IST on Thursday. Team India triumphed over South Africa the previous Saturday at Bridgetown by a margin of seven runs in the final.

Rohit & Co. Landed in Mumbai 

Well, in a T20 World Cup that was marred by the rain on more than one occasion, it is only fitting that the celebrations of its champions returning home too are delayed by the rain. The parade was scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM but has been delayed owing to the late arrival of the team, who have finally landed at the Mumbai airport. 

► Traffic restrictions in Mumbai for Victory Parade

The T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team will be holding a victory parade in Mumbai in the evening before heading to the Wankhede Stadium for a felicitation by BCCI. This led Mumbai police to announce road closures. Here are all the traffic restrictions details you must know for today: Seven roads will be closed in South Mumbai for the victory parade while parking will be prohibited on 10 roads.

  • N S Road (North Bound): This road will remain closed for all vehicles from NCPA to Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge).
  • N S Road (South Bound): The stretch from Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge) to NCPA/ Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction) will be closed for all vehicles.
  • Veer Nariman Road (North Bound): The north-bound Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Kilachand Chowk (Sunder Mahal Junction) will remain closed for all vehicles.
  • Dinshaw Vacha Road: Dinshaw Vacha Road’s northbound route from WIAA Chowk to Ratanlal Babuna Chowk (Marine Plaza Junction) will be closed for all vehicles.
  • Madam Cama Road: The Northbound stretch of this road will remain closed for all vehicles from Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction) to Venutai Chavan Chowk (Air India Junction).
  • Barrister Rajni Patel Marg: The northbound stretch of this road from Sakhar Bhavan junction to NS Road will be closed for all vehicles.
  • Vinay K Shah Marg: The northbound stretch of the road from Jamanalal Bajaj Marg to Murali Deora Chowk and N S Road will be closed for all types of vehicles.

As per visuals coming in from New Delhi, the players have arrived at the airport to fly out to Mumbai. In Mumbai, the Indian cricket team will have a heavy day. Here's what their schedule for the rest of the evening looks like: 

4 pm: Land at Mumbai and will take Volvo Buses

5 pm: Reach NCPA and board the Open-top Bus

5 to 7 pm: Open-top Bus Parade

7 to 7.30 pm: Felicitation function at Wankhede

Team India leaves PM Modi's residence 

According to visuals from New Delhi, the Indian cricket team has departed the Prime Minister's residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg following an audience with Narendra Modi. The team will now go to Mumbai for a BCCI felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede stadium. The squad will also stage an open-top bus trophy procession in South Mumbai.

Team India to meet Maharashtra CM tomorrow 

Tomorrow, the Maharashtra Chief Minister will meet with Mumbai players Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey, and Captain Rohit Sharma, who played for India in the T20 World Cup. Leader of the Shiv Sena Pratap Sarnaik informed the news agency ANI that he had asked the Mumbai players to visit Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and that the four had accepted. Tomorrow, the players will meet with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the Maharashtra Assembly.

According to the latest images from New Delhi, the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team has arrived at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister will honor the squad and host them for a meal. The team is carrying the T20 World Cup trophy during the visit.

After arriving at the ITC Maurya in New Delhi, captain of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma let loose. Rohit can be seen smiling and tongue-biting fans in videos that were shared on social media on Thursday morning as the team bus traveled from New Delhi's IGI Airport to the ITC Maurya Hotel. Dhol sounds echoed as Rohit and the dancers shook a leg as the crew arrived at the hotel.

► Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a reception for the Indian cricket team in the national capital before they travel to Mumbai, where they will participate in an open-top bus procession with the trophy. The players were transported to their hotel by two buses that were parked outside the T3 Terminal. From there, they were expected to attend a reception at the Prime Minister's house at nine in the morning.

► The T20 World Cup-winning Indian Cricket Team was transported from the IGI Airport to the ITC Maurya Hotel in Delhi, where they were serenaded by cries of Chak De, India, and dhol musicians. Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav were spotted dancing alongside the dancers at the hotel entrance.

► The Indian cricket team arrived in Delhi early this morning and will spend the rest of the day celebrating. Hundreds of Team India supporters arrived at the New Delhi airport, waving the national flag and carrying placards.
