Sanju Samson becomes the first Rajasthan Royals batter to score 3000 IPL runs

In the IPL 2023 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Sanju Samson, the skipper of RR, became the first player to score 3,000 runs for his franchise in the Indian Premier League. During the match, Samson scored a quickfire 60 runs off 32 balls, including three fours and six sixes, at a strike rate of 187.50 while chasing a target of 178 runs. Samson has scored a total of 3,006 runs in 115 matches for RR with an average of 29.76 and a strike rate of 139.10.

He has also scored two centuries and 16 half-centuries, with his highest score being 119. His most successful season was in 2021, where he scored 484 runs in 14 matches, including one century and two half-centuries. Samson has scored a total of 3,683 runs in his IPL career, playing for RR and Delhi Capitals, with an average of 29.23 and a strike rate of 136.76. He has scored three centuries and 19 half-centuries, with his highest score being 119.

Samson is currently ranked as the 17th-highest run-scorer in the IPL. Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Shane Watson, and Rahul Dravid are the next-highest run-scorers for RR. The top five run-scorers in the history of the IPL are Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, and Suresh Raina
