On March 31, Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni made his comeback to the field after over ten months in the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The match was played at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Despite retiring from international cricket in August 2020, the 41-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman continues to play in the IPL and serves as captain for the Chennai-based franchise. In his return match against GT, Dhoni showed his classic form by hitting a six against left-arm pacer Joshua Little in the last over of CSK's innings. During his brief time at the crease, he faced seven balls and scored 14 not out, which included a four and a six. With his six on the third ball of the final over of the first innings, Dhoni reached a milestone of hitting 200 sixes for CSK in the IPL. He is now the first player to hit 200 sixes for CSK in the IPL and the fifth player in the tournament's history to achieve this milestone.
