During Sunday's Indian Premier League season-opening match against Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad's acting captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and decided to pitch. Adil Rashid and Harry Brook from England, Glenn Phillips and Mayank Agarwal from New Zealand, as well as the host team SRH, all made their debuts. Jason Holder, a former captain of the West Indies, and KM Asif made their debuts with the Rajasthan Royals.
This year's captain will be the South African opener Aiden Markram, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar, an Indian pacer, will lead the squad against the Royals until Markram arrives on April 3 after a two-match ODI series against the Netherlands.
