India VS Pakistan World Cup 2023 match has been advanced by a day. Earlier the match was scheduled to be held on October, 15 in Ahmedabad, but keeping the Durga Puja celebrations in mind, the match has been advanced by a day and now the World Cup match between India and Pakistan will be held on October 14, 2023.
The agreement was fructified after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) agreed to the change in schedule presented by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) according to reports.
The main reason for the advancement of the first World Cup match of 2023 between India and Pakistan is that it was colliding with the first day of Navratri Celebrations. The MHA had informed the BCCI that it would be a security nightmare if the two events collided. Hence, the date has been shifted one day back to October 14, 2023.
As a result, Pakistan will play Sri-Lanka on October 10 instead of October 12, as it was scheduled earlier. The ICC and the BCCI have approached the PCB to reschedule another match apart from the October 14 match. The ICC will soon release an updated schedule and, likely, a few other games will also be affected by these developments.
