During the match, Disney+ Hotstar, a video streaming platform, was unavailable, prompting a flurry of panicked tweets. Around 12 p.m., the service went down, and fans posted pictures of blank screens on social media claiming they couldn't watch the match. It was discovered later that Disney did not renew the domain name on time.
The match results worried one part of the microblogging site, but memes about the outage kept getting shared by the other. Disney+Hotstar, on the other hand, has stated in response to the outage that the service is experiencing unexpected technical issues across our apps and web.
"Across our web and apps, we are experiencing some unexpected technical issues. Our team is working on this to get it fixed as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience," Disney+HS_helps wrote on Twitter.
