India enjoyed a spectacular Day 11 at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, with compound archery and shooting providing four gold medals and several other disciplines adding to the country's medal count.

Sunil Kumar Wins Wrestling Bronze

India's wrestling campaign received an important boost when Sunil Kumar won bronze in the men's Greco-Roman 87kg category.

Sunil defeated the Philippines' Callum Johnston Roberts 9-0 in the bronze-medal bout to secure India's first wrestling medal of the competition.

The victory guaranteed Lovlina at least a silver medal, but her gold-medal bout was still to come. Therefore, her medal should not be counted in India's Day 11 total.

Indian Women’s Hockey Team Reaches Final

India's women's hockey team also delivered one of the day's major non-medal results.

India defeated South Korea 2-0 in the semifinal to qualify for the women's hockey final.

After a goalless first half, Ishika Chaudhary opened the scoring before captain Salima Tete added India's second goal.

The result means India will now play for the Asian Games women's hockey gold medal. The team is aiming to win the title for only the second time, with India's previous women's hockey gold coming in 1982.

Squash Teams Also Assure More Medals

India's success was not limited to sports that produced medals on Wednesday.

Both the Indian men's and women's squash teams advanced to the semifinals, guaranteeing two more medals for the country.

The men's team defeated Kuwait 2-0, while the women's team recorded a 2-0 victory over Singapore.
