The Trinamool Congress Chief, Mamta Banerjee, who has served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal since 2011, is set to remain as the Chief Minister of West Bengal until 2036, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh stated on Sunday.
Mamta Banerjee’s TNC secured a victory in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly Election and Banerjee was elected as the CM for her third term, despite losing in her own constituency Nandigram.
Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh confirmed that Mamata Banerjee will continue as the Chief Minister of Bengal until 2036, with Abhishek Banerjee succeeding her, as stated during an event in Hooghly.
He emphasized the unity of TMC under Mamata's leadership, contrasting it with the BJP and urging them to decide their leader for the battle in Bengal.
Kunal Ghosh's attempt to address rumours of internal disputes within TMC aligns with an ongoing discussion in West Bengal's political circles about the dynamic between the young brigade and the old guard.
In response to opposition parties, Ghosh asserted, "Those harboring dreams of capturing West Bengal will find their aspirations unfulfilled."

He also took a dig at different factions within the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), questioning whether leaders aligned with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and BJP ideology or those who joined to evade the CBI and ED would lead the party.
The BJP faces the task of deciding whether it will be Suvendu Adhikari's BJP, Sukanta Majumdar's BJP, or Dilip Ghosh's BJP contesting against the TMC.
In the last Assembly election in West Bengal, the BJP contested under the leadership of TMC turncoat Suvendu Adhikari. Presently, Sukanta Majumdar serves as the chief of the West Bengal unit of the BJP, and Dilip Ghosh holds the position of BJP's all-India general secretary.
