Statements of Opposition

The BJP Jharkhand unit claimed that the chief minister had been 'on the run' for the past 18 hours, fearing action by the ED. The state BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly said that since there was nothing about the chief minister in the last two days, there would be a constitutional crisis in the state.

On 29th January, 2024; Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Delhi home was searched by the Enforcement Directorate and ₹36 lakh, an SUV and 'incriminating' documents were recovered. The investigation was part of a money laundering case involving a suspected plot of land in Jharkhand.
