Indian festivals might be for a day but we Indians always find a way to extend these festivities. The same thing is happening with Holi as well. Some celebrated it on March 7 itself and some of them will celebrate it on the 8th and 9th of March.
Due to this, people are confused as to when has the government announced a holiday for Holi. Most importantly, banks remain closed during these festivals. Well, ending all of these queries, banks will remain closed on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of March in most of the states. Banks will remain closed on the 7th and 8th of March in some states, whereas some states will have banks closed on the 8th and 9th of March. Therefore, a holiday has been announced for three days but banks can remain closed only two days in a row from the given three days.
Banks in Maharashtra, Assam, Rajasthan, Srinagar, Goa, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, Srinagar, Telangana, and Jharkhand will remain closed on 7th March. Banks in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on March 8 whereas, in Bihar, banks will remain closed on 9th March.
