Reality TV star and Supermodel Heidi Klum wins the trophy for the most talked about celebrity costume of 2022 during a Halloween bash, with a very hyperrealistic rainworm costume she wore. The costume was a ringed worm, from which only Klum’s eyes and mouth were visible.
This look set social media on fire and people were amused and confused. Some people hailed it as a remarkable art piece and commented that it should be instantly killed with fire. Klum was going for this Halloween bash 2 years later due to the pandemic, so this time she knew she had to come back with something absolutely unique, and started to prepare for this months before.
She just wanted to be something different and unique. The designer who designed this costume was also shocked to hear this in the first place, as this was something difficult to pull off in one go and required a lot of effort.
Klum was very confident with her designer Mike Marino and his abilities and she was sure enough that he wouldn't say no to this. Marino had first started by drafting a table and sketched out a human-sized worm with the help of his collaborator, Paul Komoda. Then another artist, Jerry Constantine used a scan of Klum’s body and then crafted a three-dimensional worm model that could wrap around her. After that Bill Bryan, a veteran puppet and creature suit maker, then created a worm prototype out of foam fabrication.
Then the foam parts were glued together to create the shape and then it was lined with spandex and plastic tubes. The whole process was very intricate and time-consuming and it took four months of refining and development.
Wearing such a costume can also be very difficult and claustrophobic because you do not have any access to your hands and feet. The designers said Klum actually wanted that.
Well, she certainly wins the prize for the craziest German woman this Halloween.
