Over 50% of Indian Social media influencers are faking it

Klug India recently released a report saying that about 55% of Indian influencers have 60% fave, inactive, or non-credible followers. This means that from India’s 80 million social media influencers 44 million have acclaimed fame on the ground of fake followers.

This practice of buying or faking followers and activity by influencers is a threat to anyone joining the social media industry or any brand that tries to make noise using social media. 

This report has come after various tries and warnings given by social media communities. 

Mostly it is easy to spot influencers who have fake followers as their likes and comments will not reflect their follower count. But there are cases and ways that can help people move past this hurdle as well.

Brands have said that they are unsure which influencer to trust as it gets confusing day in and day out.
