Nicknames, pet names and 18 other types of passwords you should never keep

When it comes to setting up a password, we tend to go for a word or number or combination of both which we can easily remember. But while setting up a password, we forget that this password can be easily hacked by hackers. Nowadays, we are so into our social media that we put each and everything about our personal life there. This gives enough space for hackers to guess our passwords.

Basic similarities found in passwords:

Generally, our password is completely lowercase and we keep it between 5 to 8 characters and not more than that. We avoid using different combinations of numbers, symbols, upper case letters and lower case letters.

There are 20 such categories in which we keep our password. They are as follows:

Nicknames, TV shows, TV show characters, colours, cities, fashion brands, body parts, movies, car brands, pet names, sports, makeup brands, video games, music artists, superheroes, football clubs etc. When we are huge fans of anything written above, we keep it as a password so it fits in our memory for a longer time.

Don’t use any kind of personal information in your password. Keep in mind that there should be 8-12 characters. Use two factors authentications as security of your account. And the most important thing is don’t write your passwords anywhere in your diary or on the phone. Instead, use a password manager. There are multiple apps which help you remember your password.

So don’t be a common-minded person while setting your password. Try to be unique and avoid the same errors as mentioned above.
