Apple Watch is Telling You to Sleep More

How much sleep is too much sleep? Even if the answer changes frequently, getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night is still advised. Yet, a recent study that used data from the Apple Watch found that about 40% of Americans slept for less than the recommended 7 hours each night.

According to the Apple Heart & Movement Research, which was done by Apple and the Brigham and Women's Hospital on 42,000 Apple customers, only 31% of participants were getting the minimum amount of sleep—recommended 7 hours—each night.

Many health issues, including dementia, cardiovascular disease, depression, obesity, cognitive decline, blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure, can be caused by sleep deprivation.

According to the survey, most individuals slept for less than 6 hours, 27 minutes on average. Around 20% of participants slept for only five to six hours every night, with 8.8% sleeping for fewer than five hours.

Things you can do to improve your sleep pattern:

  1. Set your mobile time before going to bed.
  2. Track your sleep
  3. Make a routine
  4. Place your phone far from yourselves while sleeping

Have a happy and healthy sleep!
