Thomson, a French consumer electronics company, stated on Thursday that it will invest Rs 200 crore in a washing machine factory through Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd., it's brand licensee in India.
According to the most recent release, the business will build a cutting-edge facility for semi-automatic washing machines.
In addition, the business unveiled a fresh range of TVs and washing machines for its Indian customers, which will be sold on Flipkart.
SPPL CEO Avneet Singh Marwah said, "With our new investment of Rs 200 crore towards the wash plant and our collaboration with Flipkart, we are confident to strengthen our presence in the category further. We are always very enthused to offer new products with the best of technology to our customers, and Thomson has a huge lineup of 25 models that we plan to launch in the rest of the year."
In India, the Thomson brand has been active for five years. With the launch of its collection of smart TVs in 2018, the company returned to India. It has since grown into a number of sectors.
"Thomson will continue its efforts to tap the vast untapped market potential that India presents," it said.
Thomson introduced new Google TVs with 4K display screens, a brand-new series of semi-automatic washing machines in the 9 kg, 10 kg, 11 kg, and 12 kg weight categories, and a brand-new FA series of TVs with Realtek processors on Thursday.
