Mahila Samman Saving Scheme: Women to get 7.5% Interest Rate

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC), a one-time small savings program for women investors, in the Budget 2023.

Anyone can deposit money in the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate in the name of a woman or a girl child. Under this program, investors can invest up to Rs 2 lakh and receive a fixed interest rate of 7.5%. Take note that this is a one-time government scheme that will run from March 2025 to March 2026.

The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and the Senior Citizen Savings Plan are the only two small savings programs that give an interest rate higher than the Mahila Samman Savings Scheme.
