He was admitted to the hospital late Saturday and is currently being watched, according to medical officials.

Only two weeks ago, Ram Chandra Paudel, a senior member of the Nepali Congress, was inaugurated as the country's president. The Nepalese Election Commission reports that Paudel received 33,802 electoral votes while his opponent, Subash Chandra Nembwang, received 15,518 votes.

Also, 518 members of the provincial assembly and 313 members of the federal parliament participated in the vote to choose the next president, according to the Nepalese Election Commission.

The Nepali Parliament building in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu, served as the voting location. In the Himalayan country, the Election Commission has set up separate polling stations at the hall for members of the provincial assembly and the federal parliament. Lawmakers from every province arrived in Kathmandu for the election.

The House of Representatives sends 275 members, the National Assembly sends 59, and each of the seven provincial assemblies sends 550, for a total of 884 members in the Electoral College. Eight parties supported Paudel, but it was believed that independent parliamentarians would support Subash Chandra Nembang, the lone CPN-UML candidate.
