Six people died in a fiercely burning fire at Loafers Lodge in Wellington, New Zealand. On Monday, 15 May, midnight, Loafers Lodge caught fire suddenly. Fire and emergency services were called out immediately. Almost 20 trucks came to extinguish the fire.
Concerned authorities informed that six people died and they succeeded in rescuing around 50 to 52 people in the building. Though, 11 people are still missing. Loafers Lodge has a total of 92 rooms. And the top floor roof collapsed due to a large fire. Still, the forces has not got any chance to enter the building. But police said that the death count would be fewer than 10.
The reason behind catching fire is still not clear, but the case is under investigation. The District Manager Commander expressed their grief and said “this is the worst nightmare for entire Wellington.”
