When Mother Yashoda finally caught little Krishna stealing makhan, she decided to tie him to a mortar to keep him out of trouble. But in a divine twist, no matter how much rope she brought, it always fell exactly two inches short! Finally, seeing his mother's exhausted but pure devotion, the Lord of the Universe yielded and allowed himself to be tied.

‘Dam’ means rope, and ‘Udar’ means belly—hence the name Damodar. But the true essence of this leela is that the supreme power who holds the entire cosmos within Him can only be captured by the sheer power of devotion and love. ❤️🙏
