Vygr Maharshtra: TCs to get body cameras for 24 stations

The Central Railway will start providing body cameras for Ticket Checkers (TCs) at 24 stations in Mumbai the next week to ensure efficient and accurate ticket checking.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Byculla, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, LTT, Thane, Dombivli, and Kalyan are some of these 24 stations.

Similar stations include Belapur, Panvel, Wadala, Vashi, Nerul, and Koparkhaire on the Harbour line. The Central Railway announced in May that TCs would receive 50 body cameras. It only had one camera in its possession, and the camera deliveries were delayed.

The last 49 body cams have finally arrived, according to a CR office employee. “In order to carry the body cameras properly, the TCs will be provided with plastic transparent cover holders which can be worn on the neck,” said the official. The body camera coverings would also provide a message for commuters, “you are under camera surveillance” he continued.

If there is any mistreatment of TCs, this will stop it.

Furthermore, it would improve responsibility, instill professionalism, and safeguard the reputation of workers while assisting in the detection of any discrepancy during ticket examination.

Among other characteristics, the body cameras' high-resolution quality provides superb night vision.

The official stated that these 50 cameras will be distributed to TCs on these 24 stations on a rotating basis and that additional will be purchased based on the reaction.
