For better jurisdiction of transport offices, the state government of Maharashtra came up with a solution of 9 new Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). To implement this, the Home Department sent an order to convert sub-regional transport offices into RTOs.
9 sub-regional transport offices which will undergo changes are Jalgaon, Chandrapur, Akola, Ahmednagar, Borivali, Vasai, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Satara and Solapur. Due to this new arrangement, the pair of sub-regional offices and its head RTOs will change. For example, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Solapur, which were part of Pune RTO, will now be separate ones and Akluj sub-regional office will come under Solapur RTO.
This will be beneficial for all those sub-regional officers whose promotions were on halt. They will soon take the position as RTO officers.
