Mumbai has recently got an opportunity to express their religious syncretism, where coincidentally Ekadashi a Hindu festival and Bakrid, happened to be on the same day, this Thursday, 29.06.23. The Aurangabad had previously made arrangements to talk to the local members of the Hindu and Muslim communities, to allow the public of Hindu religion to visit the Pandharpur village, which is seen as a religious rite, on the day of Ekadashi.
In this meeting, the Muslim members agreed to celebrate Bakrid, on the 29th of June from the 28th, due to several reasons. The Government has also ensured, several government and private organizations allow their employees to work abiding to this.
Hindu temples such as from Palghar and so on, including various mosques across the state, have been bedazzled with decorations and people celebrating their religious fests in unison, was a treat to the eyes.
