As cyclone Biparjoy shifted to Gujarat, there are favorable conditions for rainfall in Mumbai and Konkan regions. According to the India meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon will hit Mumbai between 23-25 June. This is said to be the most delayed monsoon in years.
Cyclone Biparjoy stayed in the Arabian Sea for a longer time. It grabbed all the moisture in the atmosphere towards it. Temperatures also remained high in most of the regions and wind flow was from opposite directions. All these conditions were responsible for no monsoon in Mumbai.
Usually during this period, the IMD records a favorable amount of rainfall in the Mumbai area, but this time the record is 95% less than usual. The city’s temperature last week was measured at 34-25 degrees Celsius. Looking at recent weather conditions, Mumbaikar will experience the joy of the monsoon soon.
