Independent MLA from Mira Bhayander Geeta Jain was caught in a viral video slapping a guy. The guy she slapped was an engineer from Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation who was there for demolition work of huts at Kashimira on Tuesday, June 20.
Demolition was going on without giving them prior notice. Huts were on private land and a civic engineer from MBMC was heading the process for that builder. He evacuated a woman and her children and then he was laughing at their situation. It is also said that the entire hut wasn’t illegal. Only some part of it was illegal and that lady was ready to remove that part. But civic engineers forcefully evacuated the home.
Looking at the entire episode, MLA Geeta Jain slapped that engineer as he was laughing at them and also showed him a GR saying no demolition can be carried out during the Monsoon. She said, “I will raise my voice against this in the assembly and be ready to face the reaction of my action.” She was confident enough to know that she had done the right thing.
