Vygr Maharashtra: 4 boys feared drowned off Juhu Beach, 2 rescued, investigation underway

At Juhu in Mumbai on Monday, four boys between the ages of 12 and 16 entered the rough sea, and one of them was recovered, while the other three are believed to have drowned. A Navy helicopter was dispatched around 8:20 p.m., according to a municipal official, and a search operation is still underway. Due to dangerous water conditions, a defence spokeswoman stated that dive teams are on standby but are not currently being deployed.

Five boys between the ages of 12 and 16 were swimming in the water at Juhu Koliwada in the western suburbs, where the event took place, according to him, at around 5.30 p.m.

Because of the dangerous conditions, authorities have already advised citizens and fishermen against going into the water before cyclone "Biparjoy" makes landfall on the Gujarat coast on June 15. The civic authorities had initially been informed that six persons had entered the Arabian Sea near Juhu, but it was later determined that the group consisted of five youngsters, the official said. He stated that the boys had been about a half-kilometre from the shore when they started to drown.

The official stated that while four boys are still missing and a search operation is ongoing for them, one boy was saved by a fisherman before the arrival of the fire department. He said that the ambulances, the police, the fire department, and staff from the Mumbai civic authority had all been sent to the location.

According to the source, high tide is making it difficult for search and rescue workers from the Fire Brigade, and divers from the Navy and Coast Guard have also been asked to assist. According to him, the teenage boys live in Santacruz's suburb of Vakola.

According to the official, the missing boys are Manish Yogesh Oganiya (12), Shubham Yogesh Oganiya (15), and Dharmesh Valji Faujiya (16). Jay Roshan Tajbariya is 15 years old.
