What is the PSI recruitment scam?
The PSI recruitment scam referees to the scam of about 52 candidates who appeared for the PSI (Police Sub Inspector) exams on October 3, 2021, and were caught using illegal means to pass the exam.
What is going to happen to the accused?
The 52 candidates who have been accused have been debarred and aren't allowed to take any other exams held by the police. There also have been numerous FIRs registered against them in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Tumakuru.
CID has led the investigations under government orders and they have arrested the ADGP of the recruitment wing and senior IPS officer Amrit Paul, in connection to unfair and illegal practices being used in PSI exams.
