In recent news, Deepesh Priolkar, a senior scale officer, has been appointed as the new director of the fisheries department, while Ajit Panchwadkar has been assigned the role of director of social welfare. This decision was part of the Goa government's transfer of nine senior scale officers from the Goa Civil Service. As per the personnel department's order, several individuals have been appointed to key positions. Jayant Tari is now the chief officer of Mormugao Municipal Council, Sarita Gadgil has been designated as the director of printing and stationery, Manuel Barreto is the new registrar of co-operative societies, Gaurish Shankhwalkar assumes the role of the chief officer of Margao Municipal Council, Vishant Naik Gaunekar takes on the position of additional commissioner of commercial taxes, Sanjeev Gauns Dessai has been appointed as the joint secretary to the Governor, and Sandhya Kamat now serves as the managing director of the Goa State Minorities Finance and Development Corporation.
Furthermore, the order mentioned that Pundalik Khorjuvekar, who currently serves as additional collector III in the North, will also take on the responsibilities of additional collector I, North, alongside his existing duties. Similarly, Dr Geeta Nagvenkar, the executive director of the Sports Authority of Goa, will assume the additional roles of director (administration) for the Sports Authority of Goa and member secretary of the Goa Football Development Corporation, in addition to her current responsibilities.
