The Cavelossim Village Panchayat has introduced a helpline number (8468865299) as a component of its disaster management strategy. This initiative was inaugurated by Sarpanch Dixon Vaz, along with the panch members and the Disaster Management Committee members. During the meeting, the participants engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding the appropriate response measures in the event of an emergency. They also emphasized the importance of promptly reporting the nature of the disaster to the central command centre. Sarpanch Dixon conveyed that a mock drill will be conducted on Sunday at 5 pm, specifically at the Cavelossim-Assolna ferry point. Expressing gratitude towards the local villagers who volunteered to join the disaster management cell, the sarpanch displayed confidence in the team's ability to effectively address any emergencies that may arise during the upcoming monsoon season.
