A platform with a wood and iron frame fell at a Mata Jagran in Delhi's famous Kalkaji temple on the night between Saturday and Sunday, killing one woman and hurting seventeen others, according to the Delhi Police.
What happened exactly?
Police reports and pictures released by the news agency show that a raised platform was built next to the main stage so that families of organisers and VIPs could sit down. A group of worshippers got on the stage around 1:30 a.m. while hymns were being recited. The crowd made the stage fall because it couldn't hold all of them.
