Regarding the incident, the Central Agency declared that it would be filing a First Information Report (FIR). Political responses have begun to pour in, with the Trinamool Congress blaming security personnel and the central agency for inciting the violence. The BJP, on the other hand, views the incident as proof of West Bengal's unstable law and order situation and has declared Mamata Banerjee's government's continuation to be a threat to national security.

Arrest of Shankar Adhya
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday evening arrested Trinamool Congress leader Shankar Adhya, who was Bongaon Municipality president, in connection with the alleged ration scam in West Bengal. Adhya is known to be close to former foreign minister Jyotipriya Mullick, who was earlier arrested by the central agency.
Adhya was arrested after he was arrested from his residence in Bongaon town on Friday midnight even as a crowd of nearly 100 men and women gathered at the spot and tried to stop the officer's ED takeaway.
The ED team was accompanied by central forces who used batons to control the crowd and disperse it.
