Mrs Nita Ambani, the Founder & Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, attended the esteemed State dinner held by U.S. President Joe Biden in tribute to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She wore a stunning Banarasi brocade outfit, highlighting the opulent cultural legacy of Varanasi, a revered city celebrated for its artistic traditions. Through her attire selection, Mrs Ambani underscored her dedication to championing Indian artisans and their extraordinary skills. The Banarasi brocade transcends mere fabric, as it intricately interlaces the tales of culture and grandeur that have been handed down across generations. This garment stands as a homage to the expertise and artistry of traditional Indian craftsmen, Mohammad Yasin and Jabbar Ahmad, who invested over a month in crafting this remarkable masterpiece.
The recognition of Indian craftsmanship continued at the State lunch, which was co-hosted by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, where Mrs Ambani gracefully adorned a traditional Patola saree hailing from Patan, Gujarat. This exquisite handwoven creation exemplified a modern interpretation of an age-old Indian art form. Meticulously crafted from fine Indian silk, the Patola saree showcased a mesmerizing palette of vibrant colours, captivating animal motifs, and precise geometric designs. It took six months of unwavering dedication from skilled traditional artisans, Dushyant Parmar and Vipur Parmar, to bring this stunning masterpiece to life. The State dinner hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden to honour Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the United States was graced by numerous notable Indian business figures, including Anand Mahindra, Nikhil Kamath, and the Ambani family. Additionally, distinguished Indian Americans such as Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Indra Nooyi, and many others were also extended invitations to attend the prestigious dinner.
