Telangana Flood: IMD Issues heavy rain Alert , Schools To Remain Closed In Hyderabad

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for four districts for Wednesday, September 4, 2024, due to the drop in rainfall intensity in Telangana during the past few days. The IMD bulletin states that isolated areas of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu are predicted to see severe rain.

Additionally, isolated areas in the districts of Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Mahabubabad are expected to see thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface winds.

Over the next 24 hours, Hyderabad and the nearby areas should expect mostly cloudy skies. The city is expected to see light to moderate rain or thundershowers along with gusty gusts. The advisory states that temperatures will range from a minimum of 23°C to a maximum of 27°C.

Hyderabad schools to remain closed

According to information, Hyderabad's government and private schools will stay closed until further notice due to waterlogging and severe rains. Authorities are attempting to rescue those who have become stuck as a flood-like situation has developed in several parts of the state.

The administration of Telangana has decided to close all educational institutions, as stated by Minister of Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.

The Hyderabad District Collector had earlier declared that Monday would be a closed day for all secondary and primary schools. However, the decision to keep schools closed was made because of the deteriorating circumstances.
