Telangana High Court released a 51-year-old Pakistani national Shaik Gulzar Khan also known as Gulzar Massih. In last week a bench of Justice K Lakshman and Justice P Sree Sudha overturned the decision of Telangana state government to detained Shaik Gulzar Khan in prison for getting Indian passport illegally. Court passed an order saying, "government order filed by Telangana government is illegal and liable."
In 2011, Shaik Gulzar Khan resident of Sialkot, Pakistan was charged for entering India with fake credentials. To reside in India, he married an Andhra's woman and was living as a painter in that state by profession. He used different illegal credentials like voter ID, Aadhaar to live here with a fake identity. In 2019, police arrested him from Secunderabad under various charges of Indian Penal Code, foreigners act and passport act. But somehow he managed to get the bail in district court.
After that Telangana government issued an order to get him in prison until his deportation to Pakistan completed. In 2022, he was finally behind the bar in Cherlapally Central Jail. Later on his wife filed a petition against a government order. After HC's decision the Telangana government lost the authority to order police to detain him. But HC said that case against him will go on.
