Sachin Tendulkar's complaint against use of his name and voice in fake advertisements

Sachin Tendulkar, the former cricketer, has submitted a complaint to the Mumbai Crime Branch regarding the illegal use of his name, photo, and voice in counterfeit advertisements on the internet to deceive people. The Mumbai Police Cyber Cell has initiated a case against unidentified individuals under sections 426, 465, and 500 of the IPC. Tendulkar's management team has also released a statement indicating that they have observed efforts to impersonate Tendulkar's characteristics to market unauthorized products and services online. Tendulkar's associate submitted a complaint to the West Region Cyber Police Station after encountering online ads from a drug company that asserted Tendulkar endorsed its products. Furthermore, a website named sachinhealth.in was found to be promoting these products using Tendulkar's picture without his permission, leading to a detrimental effect on his reputation. Consequently, Tendulkar instructed his associate to pursue legal action.
