Rajgarh Horror: 17-Year-Old Missing Girl Found Beheaded in Forest, Suspected Lover Dies in Road Crash

Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh: A shocking murder case has emerged from Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district, where the body of a 17-year-old girl who had been missing for seven days was found beheaded in a forested area near Biaora. The investigation took an unusual and grim turn after the man suspected of taking the teenager into the forest died in a road accident on the same day he was allegedly fleeing the area.

Police have identified the suspected man as Ankit Malviya, also referred to as Anurag alias Ankit in some reports, a resident of Jamonia Ganesh. Investigators say the teenager and Malviya were in a relationship and had been in contact for nearly two years.

The exact motive behind the Rajgarh girl murder remains unclear, and police are continuing to piece together the sequence of events using CCTV footage, call records, mobile location data and evidence recovered from the forest.

Rajgarh murder case

17-year-old girl went missing on September 30

The case began on September 30, 2026, when the teenage girl went missing. She was living with her maternal uncle in Karedi village, and her family approached Rajgarh Kotwali police station after she failed to return.

According to the investigation, the girl had travelled by bus from Karedi to Rajgarh to meet Malviya after he allegedly asked her to meet him. CCTV footage examined by police reportedly showed the teenager travelling with him on a motorcycle towards the Shamsherpura area.

Malviya, who reportedly worked at a factory in Pithampur, is believed to have taken the girl towards a forested area under Malawar police station limits.

Police have established that the two knew each other and were in a romantic relationship. However, investigators have not yet established why the meeting allegedly turned violent.

Suspect dies in road accident while fleeing

As police began tracing the missing teenager and the man suspected of taking her away, another tragedy unfolded.

Malviya was reportedly travelling on a motorcycle after leaving the forest when his vehicle collided with a truck near Pagari Bangla in the Malawar police station area. He died in the accident.

This created an unusual situation for investigators: the person suspected of being directly involved in the teenager’s disappearance and alleged murder was himself dead before police could question or arrest him.

Police subsequently intensified their efforts to reconstruct his movements before the accident.

His call records, mobile location and other digital evidence became important leads in the investigation. Investigators also questioned one of his relatives, whose statement reportedly provided crucial information about what may have happened in the forest.

Relative's statement gives police crucial lead

During questioning, the relative allegedly told police that Malviya had taken the minor towards the forest. According to investigators, Malviya later returned alone and allegedly told the relative that he had killed the girl.

Police then examined the digital trail and other available evidence to determine the location where the teenager could have been taken.

The investigation eventually led a police team to a forested area under Malawar police station limits.

There, officers discovered the girl’s decomposed body.

The remains were reportedly in an advanced stage of decomposition, consistent with the fact that she had been missing for about a week.

Girl's body found in forest, saw recovered

The discovery of the teenager’s body transformed what had initially been treated as a missing-person and suspected kidnapping case into a murder investigation.

Police found that the girl had allegedly been beheaded. Her skull was reportedly located around 50 feet away from the torso.

A saw was also recovered from the area. Investigators additionally found a rope hanging from a tree near the spot.

The physical evidence is now being examined as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.

Police have not publicly established whether the rope was connected to the crime or the suspected man’s actions, and its presence remains part of the broader forensic investigation.

Argument allegedly preceded murder

According to the preliminary police theory, the teenager and Malviya entered the forest after travelling together on his motorcycle. An argument allegedly broke out between the two.

Police suspect that Malviya subsequently attacked the girl with a saw and killed her.

After the alleged murder, he reportedly contacted his cousin and spoke about what had happened. He then left the forest.

The suspect’s subsequent death in the road accident meant investigators were unable to obtain his direct account of the incident.

As a result, police are relying heavily on circumstantial and forensic evidence to reconstruct what happened.

Importantly, the exact reason for the argument and the motive for the alleged murder have not yet been established.

CCTV, call records and mobile location help crack case

With no eyewitness to the alleged killing, investigators have been using technology and physical evidence to connect the events.

CCTV footage reportedly helped police establish the teenager’s movements before she disappeared. Call detail records and mobile location data were then used to trace the movements of the suspected man.

Cyber investigation reportedly pointed investigators towards the forest area where the girl’s body was ultimately recovered.

Police are also examining communications between Malviya and his relative around the time of the incident.

The combination of CCTV footage, call records, mobile location data, questioning and evidence from the crime scene has allowed investigators to reconstruct much of the timeline despite the absence of a surviving primary suspect.

Rajgarh police have said the initial missing-person investigation was subsequently followed by a murder case after the girl’s body was recovered.

What happened in the Rajgarh forest remains a mystery

While investigators have established several important links, significant questions remain unanswered.

The most important is the precise motive behind the 17-year-old girl's murder in Rajgarh.

Police have confirmed the relationship between the teenager and the suspected accused, but have not established what triggered the alleged attack. Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s death and his movements immediately after leaving the forest.

There is currently no eyewitness account of the alleged murder. Much of the case therefore rests on digital evidence, forensic findings, CCTV footage and statements recorded during the investigation.

The recovery of the saw and the condition and location of the girl’s remains could also prove important as investigators attempt to establish the sequence of events.

A case that began as a missing-person report

The Rajgarh case has unfolded over the course of a week, beginning with a family’s missing-person complaint and ending with the discovery of a teenager’s body in a forest.

The suspected involvement of someone known to the girl has made the case particularly disturbing. At the same time, the suspect’s death in a road accident has complicated the investigation, leaving police without an opportunity to directly question him about the alleged crime.

For now, investigators are focused on establishing the complete chain of events surrounding the girl’s disappearance, alleged murder and the subsequent death of the suspected accused.

The Rajgarh murder investigation remains underway, while police continue to examine the available evidence to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the teenager’s death.

The case has also highlighted how CCTV footage, mobile location tracking, call records and cyber investigation can become critical in solving cases where there are no direct eyewitnesses and key suspects are unavailable for questioning.

Until the investigation and forensic examination are complete, several aspects of the case remain under probe. Police are expected to rely on the combined evidence to establish what happened to the 17-year-old after she left Karedi on September 30 and how she ultimately ended up dead in the Rajgarh forest.
