Right now, the weather system is centred over south Odisha and the neighbouring north Andhra Pradesh, roughly 120 km east of Malkangiri and 90 km north-northwest of Visakhapatnam. "It is likely to move west-northwest wards across south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh to weaken into a well-marked low pressure area during the next 24 hours," the official stated in a news statement.
