Growing Concern over Rape Cases
This sad incident that happened in Indore shows the growing concern about rape cases in India. It is expected that after such traumatic experiences, the number of these crimes would dwindle, but still, so many cases keep coming. The root causes one, lack of awareness and education, and two, a judiciary system without severe punitive sentences for rapists.
There's a dire need for society to know the meaning of consent and that "no means no." Also, there is a need for more stringent punishment for such heinous crimes. Nobody has the right to violate another human being, come what may.
The incident in Indore is tragic in that it reinforces, once again, that much is left undone on the safety front, in stringency of laws, and in changing mores to tackle effectively such crimes as these.
