Mumbai Local is the lifeline of Mumbai, but now this lifeline isn’t sufficient to survive in the metropolitan region and that’s why people are giving preference to the Metro. Now, a new Metro line 5 which will cover the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan route has been proposed and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has given the permission to build the underground route between Dhamankar Naka and Temghar.
This Metro line 5 will have a total of 15 stations, which are as follows: Balkum Naka, Kasheli, Kalher, Purna, Anjurphata, Dhamankar Naka, Bhiwandi, Gopal Nagar, Temghar, Rajnouli, Gove Gaon, Lal Chowki, Kalyan Staion and Kalyan APMC. These 15 stations will cover almost 15 km of distance.
This line 5 will have connectivity between line 4 Wadala- Kasarwadi and line 12 Kalyan- Taloja. Due to this new Metro line, travelling between Bhiwandi and nearby regions will become easy and convenient. It will increase the speed of travelling by 50 to 75 %. This will be marked as one of the necessary developmental projects in Thane district.
