President Droupadi Murmu was presented with her new voter ID card by P Krishnamurthy, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Officials had previously stated that Krishnamurthy had visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 10 to assist her in updating her voter ID address from Odisha to Delhi.
"President Droupadi Murmu received her voter ID card from Shri P Krishnamurthy, Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, at Rashtrapati Bhavan," the president's office said in a post on X.
On July 25 of the previous year, Murmu, originally from Odisha, took the oath as the 15th President of India.
Also, The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu graced the valedictory session of the 1st Regional Conference on ‘Access to Legal Aid: Strengthening Access to Justice in the Global South’ in New Delhi today (November 28, 2023).
In her address, the President emphasized the importance of making legal aid accessible to those in need, as it is a fundamental aspect of any modern state. She also highlighted the role of legal aid in creating a fair and just society that is built on trust. The President further acknowledged the participation of 69 countries from Africa, Asia, and the Pacific in this conference, which she deemed as a significant milestone in our collective pursuit of justice and equality.
