Among the 3 shortlisted IPS for the post of CBI head, Karnataka Director General of Police, Praveen Sood will be the next CBI head. This appointment was made by the PM, including other committee members, with Chief Justice D. Chandrachud in a meeting held on Sunday 14 May. This decision was taken on the day when Congress topped the election result.
In 2018, he became the DGP of Karnataka. He was about to retire in 2024, but now, as he is the CBI head, he will hold the term for the next two years. Many things have been said about this decision, like, Praveen Sood being biased towards BJP, his name wasn’t there on the list and it was added at the last minute.
Well, soon Praven Sood will be there on duty.
