PM Modi launches numerous development initiatives in Varanasi

In an attempt to strengthen his parliamentary constituency ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched and set the groundwork for a number of development projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crore in Varanasi on Friday. The Prime Minister criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remark that "people in Varanasi are lying drunk" while speaking to the crowd following the inauguration. According to the prime minister, the Congress party is venting its anger on the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Yuvraj of the Congress claims that the youth of Uttar Pradesh and Kashi are 'nashedi'. What sort of language is this? They're venting their frustration at the youth of Uttar Pradesh now. PM Modi stated, "The youth of Uttar Pradesh are working hard to create a developed state.

Development of Infrastructure Projects

The four-lane widening of National Highway 233 from Ghargra to the Bridge to Varanasi and the two-lane widening of National Highway 56 from Sultanpur to Varanasi were two of the road projects that the Prime Minister inaugurated in Varanasi. He also said that Uttar Pradesh has chosen to give all of its Lok Sabha seats to Modi and the NDA in the next election. In addition, PM Modi set the stage for a number of projects that will improve the region's infrastructure and industry growth.

HPCL LPG bottling plant in Sewapuri
The HPCL LPG bottling plant in Sewapuri, which will help the region's energy sector, was one of the important projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. At UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, he also inaugurated a Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit as well as several infrastructure projects. These projects are meant to boost industrial growth in the area and make jobs available.

It's important to keep this growth going, PM Modi said, pointing out how quickly Varanasi has changed in the last ten years. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi was built on his ideas. The fabric business in the city will benefit from the NIFT, which will also teach and train people in the area. To make health care better in Varanasi, the Prime Minister also said that a new medical college and the National Centre for the Ageing would be opening.

Farmers and Workers Empowering

Prime Minister Modi talked about how the Amul dairy plant in Karkhiyaon could help over 3 lakh farmers in the area make more money when he opened it. He stressed how important taking care of animals was for giving women power and encouraging them to be independent. The Prime Minister also talked about how the government helps small farmers, cattle ranchers, artists, artisans, and business owners. This showed how important it is to make India self-sufficient.

In addition to these projects, PM Modi laid the groundwork for a centre for artists to print silk fabrics and for a number of tourism and spiritual tourism-related projects. He went to a public event to honour the 647th birthday of Sant Guru Ravidas. There, he reaffirmed the government's dedication to inclusive development through programmes that help all citizens, especially those from disadvantaged groups.

Government's actions during COVID-19

PM Modi also discussed the government's actions during COVID-19, including providing 80 crore people with free food grains. According to him, the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and the impoverished are all taken care of by the government. He added that more money has been awarded to Dalit students during the past ten years. At Banaras Hindu University, Prime Minister Modi expressed his confidence that India would advance and pledged to show this to the rest of the world. 

Overall, PM Modi's recent actions in Varanasi show that he wants to make the lives of the people who live there better by changing the area and supporting social welfare and economic growth.
