New Delhi and Patna: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Pashupati Kumar Paras tendered his resignation from the union ministerial portfolio, citing dissatisfaction over seat distribution within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar. Paras, the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) from Bihar expressed his discontent with the seat allocation, which resulted in him not being assigned any seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Vygr News held a friendly chat with the union minister on Friday at his Delhi office.
The decision to resign and sever ties with the NDA signifies the growing discontent within the alliance, where seat-sharing negotiations have been made. Speaking about his resignation in New Delhi ahead of the general elections, Paras lamented the lack of fairness in the distribution of seats, stating that neither he nor his party received any representation.

Not a single seat was allocated to his party, he said. "Relations play a significant role in politics," the Minister said on Friday.
The seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA in Bihar has been finalized last week. Under this arrangement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) again assumed a decisive role, contesting elections on 17 seats in Bihar. Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (United) (JDU) has been allotted 16 seats. Additionally, the Lok Janshakti Party led by Chirag Paswan (LJP R) has been allocated 5 seats, Jeetan Ram Manjhi's party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) has been granted 1 seat, and Upendra Kushwaha's party Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) has secured 1 seat.
