Over 13 crore pilgrims visited Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham in two years

Over the last two years, over 13 crore devotees, including 16,000 foreign visitors, have flocked to Kashi Vishwanath Dham, thanks to the Yogi government's unrelenting dedication to improving accessibility and amenities for devotees.

According to Sunil Verma, Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Special Area Development Authority, a record 15,930 foreign devotees will be able to visit the revered Vishwanath Temple for a perfect darshan between December 13, 2021, and December 6, 2023.

According to the officials, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally opened the revitalised Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple on December 13, 2021, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of visitors.

Booked numbers for 2023 have almost doubled over 2022, Mr. Verma noted, underscoring the increasing demand for the spiritual experience that Kashi offers from both domestic and foreign sources.

A record-breaking 12 crore, 92 lakh, twenty-four thousand persons visited the pilgrimage site between December 13, 2021, and December 6, 2023, according to the CEO, indicating a significant surge in religious tourism. From January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, there were 40 devotees, according to the CEO's record; from January 1, 2023, to December 6, 2023, there were 11,350.
